Roosevelt High School Key Club is sponsored by the Minneapolis Downtown Kiwanis Club. The Club is also a Students in Action Club, part of the National Jefferson Awards for Public Service Program.  

April 16, 2016
RHS Key Club/SIA earned a Silver Banner from the Jefferson Service Awards through a presentation provided by Guadalupe Ocampo (with support from Kay Carvajal Moran and Anjuli Lawler) and a survey completed by Sanjay Lawler, Pakou Lee, and Pakou Yang identifying and describing the service the club has provided to the community during this school year.

RHS Key Club/SIA Students participated in Leadership Training provided by Jefferson Service Awards at the University of St. Thomas.
February 2016
RHS Key Club/SIA sold bracelets made in Peru with proceeds benefiting those in Peru who made them.  This has become an annual tradition thanks to the coordination of counselor Mr. Heymans.
Club members made Valentines for Veterans at the Minneapolis Veterans Home in February.
The Club promoted Random Acts of Kindness day on February 17 providing a special treat for those students, staff and faculty who pledged to do something nice for others that day.

Key Club Officers coordinated to have 35 club members and general students at Roosevelt High School to bus to Feed My Starving Children to pack meals for kids in need. They volunteered on their day off from school the day before Thanksgiving!

Key Club members Trick-or-Treated for UNICEF on Halloween in the Nokomis Neighborhood and at Roosevelt High School in the weeks leading up to Halloween raising over $100 in support of the Eliminate Project.

Cleaning up the Stadium and School Area before Hosting Football Game
Because of Construction on the Cafeteria, students ate lunch in the bleachers of the Football Stadium.  Club members cleaned up the area which had gotten quite littered, to make it look good for members of the community attending the Home Football game that evening.

Cleaning at St. Joseph's Home for Children
Club members cleaned up the Art Room in anticipation of students beginning school.

Club members joined Kiwanis Clubs from the region to build dressers at Bridging for those in need.
